Professional Development (PD) is widely accepted as part of the ongoing requirement of members of many professional organisations including the teaching and healthcare professions.
SYTA, as the professional body for Satyananda Yoga Teachers, requires its members to engage in ongoing PD. The purpose of this is to ensure a high level of professional and ethical standards of teaching in the Satyananda system of yoga and to foster ongoing connection with the Satyananda teachings and sangha.
SYTA full members are required to earn at least 12 PD points during the course of a membership year (1 July to 30 June). At least 6 of these points must be earned from PD connected to the Satyananda system of yoga. For further details about PD requirements, SYTA members are encouraged to log on to the Member Zone and review the contents under the PD requirements menu item.
Members are required to complete the SYTA PD Record Form each year to demonstrate that they are fulfilling the PD requirements. SYTA requests a copy of the form to be submitted for verification at membership renewal time. A copy of the form is available in the Member Zone.
